Self-evaluation conducted

This means you are now ready for the GreenSign audit
After the certification process has been completed with a self-evaluation by the company, the audit is then carried out by qualified GreenSign Institute employees or external auditing partners to ensure the highest possible quality assurance. The auditor’s visit to your company is followed by an audit report with an assessment and confirmation of the GreenSign compliance level, as well as recommendations for the further development of operational sustainability activities.
Frequently asked questions
How does a typical audit process work at GreenSign? What steps are involved?

The audit process starts with the online self-evaluation in our conformity assessment program CAT (Conformity Assessment Tool). The audit team and Customer Support are happy to help with any uncertainties or questions.

Approximately two to three weeks after the company has been activated in CAT, the auditor responsible will contact you to arrange a joint audit appointment and clarify any open questions or uncertainties in advance.

Once the self-evaluation has been completed by the company, usually after around six to seven weeks, the on-site audit takes place within a very short time. The audit itself consists of a theoretical and practical review process based on the self-evaluation and the conditions on site. Once the audit has been completed, the company is sent the certificate, the individual audit report and the handover photo. This email also contains instructions on how the certificate can be entered into the various OTAs and how to install the widget on your own website.

This concludes the audit process until recertification is due in three years’ time. With the recertification, the audit process starts all over again.

Who conducts the audits?

Our team of auditors is made up of experienced sustainability managers and auditors. We also work with freelance external auditors.

In addition, we cooperate with SGS and Control Union. Both companies are increasingly supporting us abroad so that the audit can be carried out in the relevant native language.

How long does an audit usually take?

An audit usually takes between three and four hours, depending on how in-depth the company wants to address the issues and how open it is to suggestions for improvement. We look at the key areas of the company and then discuss the answers to the self-evaluation in the tool.
